Product Description
In this experience, we will thoroughly travel every emblematic point of the tourist area of Santo Domingo, providing detailed information and taking the necessary time to do so.
PARADE IN PARK COLON:
We will begin our journey in Colón Park, which is the epicenter of the colonial city and serves as a central recreation space. Here, you will find a rich concentration of notable monuments, such as the Primada Cathedral of America, the First City Council of Santo Domingo, the picturesque street El Conde, famous restaurants, shops and many other attractions. In the heart of this park, a statue of Christopher Columbus stands, erected in 1887 by the talented French sculptor Ernesto Gilbert.
Parade in Cathedral Primada de América:
This Cathedral and Minor Basilica, located in the colonial city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is consecrated to Santa María de la Encarnación, also known as the Annunciation. Officially, it is named after Santa Church Cathedral Metropolitan Basilica of Our Lady Santa María de la Encarnación or Annunciation. It is located at the intersection of Archbishop streets Meriño and Isabela la Católica, near the Colón Park, with its main entrance oriented west, in front of Archbishop street Meriño, near the corner with Archbishop Nouel.
Parada in Panteon Nacional:
The National Pantheon is a place dedicated to being a mausoleum where the mortal remains of prominent figures in the history of the Dominican Republic are preserved. This enclosure has about 36 empty spaces allocated to house the remains of future national heroes. In addition, it includes a space without specific plate in honor of the unknown soldier.
Stop in Museum of the Royal Houses:
The Museum of Royal Houses, previously known as Royal Palaces at the time of the General Captaincy and the Province, is based in two palaces dating from the 16th century. It was built by order of the Crown of Castile, under the reign of Fernando II of Aragon.
Stop in Alcazar de Colon:
The Alcázar de Colón was erected between 1511 and 1514, taking as inspiration the design of a previously existing castle in Mancera de Abajo, Salamanca (Spain), of which there are still ruins in ruins.
Stop in lighthouse to colon:
This monument is cross -shaped, which symbolizes the Christianization of the Americas, and has approximate dimensions of 800 meters long by 36.5 meters high. It has been affirmed that in this place are the remains of Admiral Christopher Columbus, although genetic analysis has shown that this statement is incorrect, since the remains of Columbus are in the Cathedral of Seville.
